Certifications we award

Each DSI certification is defined by a published specification, assessed by independent examination, and awarded by the Institute. Holders are eligible for ECTS credit toward postgraduate qualifications.

CADA

Certified Associate Data Analyst (CADA)

Certifies that the holder can prepare and report on business data using Excel, SQL and Power BI.

CPDA

Certified Professional Data Analyst (CPDA)

Certifies that the holder can analyse, visualise and model data to support evidence-based decisions.

CPDS

Certified Professional Data Scientist (CPDS)

Certifies that the holder can build, evaluate and interpret machine learning and deep learning models.

What a DSI certification tells you

A DSI certification records that its holder has passed an independent examination set against a published specification. The Institute sets and marks that examination itself, separately from any programme the candidate studied, so the certification reflects demonstrated competence rather than course attendance. For an employer, it offers a consistent reference point: certifications carry the same meaning whoever holds them and wherever they were prepared.
